I’ve never had to describe someone to a police sketch artist. As far as I know, no one has ever described me to a police sketch artist either, but that’s another story. (As Ron White says, “I’m between six-one and six-six depending on which convenience store I’m leaving.”) Anyway….
Forensic artists provide a difficult and valuable service. Now there is software that can be used to create the same kinds of composites. Just for fun, which is what I’m all about right now, you can try your hand at software that creates composite “sketches” online.
If you need a little help with the proportions, take a look here.
The sketch below is a sort of self-portrait I made. In real life, I’m not quite that good looking.
For a quicker and funnier composite based on a text description, you have to give this a try.

Oh, you are so dead. I fell for it. AAAAAAAIIIIIEEEE.
Nice self-portrait there. . .looks a little more like some guy I saw on an episode of Law and Order than the shockingly handsome gentleman you are in 3-D.
I see hours of time suckage now, doodling online! Thanks for sharing.

When I was about 8 years old, a man tried to grab my friend and I in a park. We got away and went to the police. They had a sketch artist draw a composite based on our description. The picture didn’t look anything like the guy, and they arrested some poor kid who looked exactly like the sketch. Thankfully he was released. Now I’m going to try this out!

When I was small I had to describe an attempted abduction to a military police sketch artist. The pictures didn’t look anything like the two men who tried to abduct me and I told them so. I have no idea what happened from that as my parents felt it better not to bring it up again.
LOL I looked much cuter in my composite based on a text description than I do in real life! LOL
