Old Family Photo
Revealing a lot of personal details is not just indiscreet, it may be embarrassing. So instead, here’s an old photo that one of my sisters recently ran across and emailed to me. This is me, my siblings, our mother, and her mother at Grandmom’s 75th birthday.
.
Because, how could this possibly be embarrassing? You can stop laughing now. Really. Get up off the floor….
[Edit: Okay. I'm standing behind the chair. I also feel compelled to explain that, while it was fashionable at the time for men to get perms, my hair is really that curly. I just wear it a lot shorter these days. And I have no idea what was happening off to the side -- it would be a pretty good guess that one of my uncles was
doing something stupiddistracting us....]Posted on June 6th, 2007 16 comments16 responses to “Old Family Photo”

I’m not afraid of revealing old photos, though I must say some of them are quite frightening! I don’t have a current scanner though. It’s what prevents me, or protects me…you choose:)

[...] Recently, Tim VanSant shared an old family snapshot taken years ago on his grandmother’s 75th birthday. What a great thing is it to have a snapshot of his grandmother, mother, and brothers and sisters to record such an auspicious occasion. The picture not only records that moment, but through the period dress of the subjects and background decor, the viewer of the photograph is transported back in time to epoch in which when the picture was taken.
