I got this link from a colleague.

For those of us that like words [and you are here reading, after all] it can be addictive. You have a word and a list of four possible synonyms or definitions. Click on the one you think matches best. Get three in a row right and advance to a higher level. Miss one and drop to a lower level. It’s that simple.

Except it’s not just that. As you play, there are advertisements across the bottom of the screen. The advertisers pay for rice that is donated to the United Nations World Food Program. Currently, they donate 20 grains of rice for every word you match correctly. In just a few minutes you can run up a few hundred grains of rice. That may not sound like much, but the power of lots of people each doing a little bit adds up to huge amounts. For each of the last three days the totals have been around a quarter billion grains of rice. Since its premier in October, the total is upwards of 6 trillion grains.

So I would like all of you to go play long enough to add at least 1000 grains of rice to the total. And if you’re competitive, you can tell us what vocabulary level you got to (the highest is 50, but the FAQs say it’s rare for people to get above 48).
