3SP: Burning Sensations

A few weeks ago Kara Monterey posted 6 Brilliant Songs with Fire/Burning Analogies and, while they are all fine choices, I thought of a few others that fit the theme. Actually, I can think of lots of others. Fire and burning are not uncommon images in popular songs, but these I think are well worth a listen.

The first brilliant burning-related song that sprang to mind was Burning Memories by Katy Moffat. I couldn’t find a video of the song anywhere, but here’s the audio:

Next on my 3-song playlist is Firewalker by Liz Phair. I admit that I skipped over a few more obvious choices and dug into my music collection to find this one. I’m so glad I did.

Smoke from a Distant Fire by Sanford Townsend Band is really the second song that I thought of for this playlist. I’ve always liked this song and the way that it mixes really sad lyrics with such an upbeat and catchy melody.
